RD Licensing in Colorado

Colorado doesn’t currently require dietitians to have a state license, but that’s changing — the state’s Division of Professions and Occupations is in the process of setting up regulations for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). In the meantime, most dietitians working in Colorado hold national certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

CEU Requirements

The CDR Requires RDNs to obtain 75 Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs) in their 5 year recertification cycle;  NDTRs in California must complete 50 CPEUs within the same 5-year cycle.

How do I earn CPEUs for CO?

RDs & DTRs in Colorado can complete approved CPEU activities by the CDR to fulfill their continuing education requirements and maintain their national credential.  View CDR Prior-Approved CPEU activities by scrolling below!
