The state of California does not mandate that RDNs and NDTRs obtain a separate state license to practice. They are, however, required to maintain their national credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
CEU Requirements
The CDR Requires RDNs in California to obtain 75 Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEUs) in their 5 year recertification cycle; NDTRs in California must complete 50 CPEUs within the same 5-year cycle.
