Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Continuing Education Requirements
RDs & DTRs are required to complete the Professional Development Portfolio once per five-year recertification cycle to maintain their credentials. The PDP Guide is for recertification cycles ending in 2025 and beyond, and serves as a simplified way for practitioners to obtain information about completing recertification requirements.
*Note: Newly credentialed RDs & DTRs who pass their exam after June 2 will be longer than 5 years; the cycle dates can be found in your MyCDR account.
Registered Dietitians (RDs) – You are required to complete 75 CPEUs including 1 CPEU in Ethics or Health Equity every 5 year recertification cycle.
Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs) – You are required to complete 50 CPEUs including 1 CPEU in Ethics or Health Equity, every 5 year recertification cycle.

On the check out page an account will be automatically created for you with your email address and new password.
Once your order goes through, you’ll be redirected to your account and can begin the courses immediately.
Courses are immediately accessible from within your DietitianCEU account after purchase. Each course includes a lesson, which could be reading material or video based (depending on the course), a test, a brief survey, and a certificate of completion upon receiving passing marks on the test.
Tests require a passing score of 70% or higher. You have multiple attempts to achieve a passing score on the test, and there is no extra cost to retake your test.
Yes, all courses contained on the website are prior-approved by the CDR, and go through the rigorous CDR course approval process. Prior-approved courses are assigned an activity #, which is listed on the product page.
Dietitian CEU courses are considered Activity Type 741: Enduring Activity.
The approval date range for all CDR approved courses available on the website are included on the product page. We recommend completing your course within this time frame.
